Our Mission
The Shiane C. Dixon Foundation was established in 2022 in memory and honor of Shiane Claudia-Marie Dixon, a loving daughter and sister, a phenomenal student-athlete, and talented musician who passed away in 2009 at the age of 12.
The Foundation seeks to honor Shiane’s wide-ranging skillsets and abilities by providing children in Montgomery County, MD with tools, financial resources, and experiences to become the greatest versions of themselves.
Shiane benefited from having a village that invested in her and as a result, her talents were on full display for the world to see. Her life exemplified what is possible when young people are provided with what they need to live up to their full potential. The Foundation’s programming aims to serve as a space for young people to learn new skills, build community, and access opportunities that together bring them closer to their highest goals.
